At Willow Laboratories, our quality assurance, employee qualifications and equipment maintenance programs meet and exceed the stringent regulations set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Clinical Laboratories Improvement Amendments by the federal government (CLIA) and Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA).
Specimens are generally tested in panels, usually between 5 and 12. Each panel contains different substances to be tested. We also offer special panels on request (see below). Clients can expect initial testing results within 24 hours of the specimen arriving at the lab.
At Willow, we understand that the work we do affects people's lives. That is why we follow a strict chain of custody process with quality assurance systems in-place. Of the millions of samples tested throughout our history, not a single reported drug test has been successfully challenged. We're proud of this record of success.

Urine Drug Testing back to top
Urine drug testing has the longest history of acceptance by the legal community and court system. Urine drug screens also include adulteration and Over-The-Counter medication detection.
Each specimen delivered to our lab is secure and protected. The specimen and chain of custody form (CCF) are stored in a secure location until the analysis begins.
Oral Fluid Drug Testing back to top
This type of drug testing is generally utilized by private companies to pre-screen prospective employees. It is also used to perform random tests on current staff members. Oral-Fluid testing is also used by school systems to ensure drug-free schools.
Many companies and school systems find this type of testing to be less invasive than other screening options. Oral-Fluid testing measures drug use that has occurred on a very recent basis.
Oral-Fluid testing is performed by using a device that is placed in the mouth of the donor. After the appropriate amount of saliva is collected, the sample is returned to the lab for analysis.
Hair Drug Testing back to top
An alternative to urine and saliva screening is Hair Testing. This form of drug testing measures drug use that occurred in the past. Hair testing does not measure current drug use.
Confirmation Testing - GC/MS back to top
Positive drug screening results are considered presumptive until a confirmation test, using an approved alternate method, is employed. Willow's stringent confirmation methods include dedicated Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS) testing in our in-house toxicology lab.
This methodology identifies specific drugs and can rule out false positive drug screens caused by prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications or other substances. GC/MS results are conclusive and therefore admissible in court.
The science of GC/MS confirmation testing.
GC/MS testing ensures all initial test findings are confirmed in a quality controlled environment. GC/MS ensures your results are accurate and dependable.
